Just as geographic location determines a household’s access to resources, historically exclusionary policies have made race and ethnicity determinants of access to opportunity and upward mobility. Darker colors indicate higher concentrations of the predominant racial/ethnic group in each census tract. This map is particularly useful when viewed alongside the Racial Segregation map.
